Workers' Compensation for Federal Employees

The Federal Employees' Compensation Act ( FECA ) provides compensation benefits to U.S. civilian employees  for disability that result from an injury sustained while they were working. The Act also provides for occupational disease related to employment.

Benefits available to injured employees can include:

  • Medical

  • Surgical

  • Necessary Expenses

  • Rehabilitation

FECA can also provide compensation to dependents if the  employee's death is work related. 
FECA is administered by the Office of Workers' Compensation Programs ( OWCP, U.S. Department of Labor, located in 12 district offices throughout the United States.


Social Security Disability application is a complex process. If you are denied you may need the expertise of a lawyer that specializes in appealing SSI disability claims.  The appeals process can take a very long time, so having a disability lawyer that knows the process will help streamline your disability claim.
